LEMA RANCH TRAILS

Lema Ranch is a 200-acre open space in northeast Redding that contains the headquarters of the McConnell Foundation, a philanthropic organization that has made substantial investments in trails and open space throughout Shasta County. Four miles of public trails have been developed that afford visitors scenic views of Mt. Lassen, Mt. Shasta and the Trinity Alps. In addition, the property has four lakes which were built in the early 1950s and improved in 1997 to encourage aquatic plant communities, provide wildlife habitat and improve water quality. While it was not necessary for the Foundation to seek partners to develop these trails, their existence emphasizes their commitment to trails partnerships in this region.
