| Lassen Volcanic National Forest |
It takes approximately one hour to drive from one entrance of the park to the other, non-stop. It is a one-hour drive from Redding to the north entrance of the park, and a one-hour drive from Red Bluff (30 minutes south of Redding) to the south entrance of the park.

Mt. Shasta is a one hour drive north of Redding on
Interstate 5. At 14,161 feet tall, you can see Mt. Shasta as you drive up the valley, directly in front of you on the Interstate. (The mountain to the east of the valley is Lassen Peak). There are many hiking trails in the area, and guides are available to assist you. For more information on

Whiskeytown Lake, Redding's Best Kept Secret, offers beautiful views, spectacular wildlife watching, camping, hiking, and, of course, fishing and boating. The lake is located just 15 minutes west of Redding on Hwy 299. Since Whiskeytown Lake is within the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, there is a fee to visit the lake.
